Things to bring on your first visit to our practices:
When you call the office to set up your appointment you will speak to our scheduler. They will obtain some personal and insurance information from you as well as some general clinical information. They are not doctors, so they cannot give you any medical advice or recommendations. Once they have all your information, an appointment will be scheduled for you. Please allow at least 45 minutes for your initial examination and sometimes longer if x-rays are necessary.
On your initial visit to our office you will be greeted with a smile and given some paperwork to fill out about yourself, your current symptoms and past medical history.
You will then be placed in a private room and seen by a doctor to review the history of your condition. A detailed history is pivotal in order for us to better understand your condition or injury, how it is affecting your daily activities and to accurately diagnose the cause of your symptoms.
The doctor will then perform a physical exam including an orthopedic, neurological and functional exam. If the doctor deems necessary, x-rays will be taken on site.
Once the exam is complete, the doctor will render a diagnosis and offer the appropriate treatment recommendations.
Treatment is sometimes started on the first visit, but usually on the next office visit.
Before you leave, the doctor will answer all your questions and provide you with information and instruction such as modification of activities, exercises, proper biomechanics, Ice/Heat instructions, posture correction and ergonomic considerations.
The initial visit is approximately 45 minutes, and subsequent treatment visits range from 30-45 minutes.
Please call our office and we will verify your coverage and benefits for you prior to your first visit.
