Chiropractic Physician
Dr. Pedro is the president and clinical director of Spine and Sports Medicine Associates,
a division of Comprehensive Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, PC. After
obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Quinnipiac University in 1992, Dr.
Pedro went on to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic degree with honors from New York
College of Chiropractic in 1995.
Dr. Pedro has 25 years of clinical experience working in an orthopedic, physical
medicine and rehabilitation setting, and has spent the past 18 years as the clinical director
of a multi-disciplinary injury and rehabilitation clinic incorporating the specialties of
Chiropractic, Orthopedic surgery and Physical therapy. Dr Pedro has had the pleasure of
participating in the treatment of over 10,000 patients, and has obtained extensive postgraduate education in radiology, orthopedics, sports medicine and rehabilitation and is in
the process of obtaining an advanced certification as a primary spine practitioner (PSP) at
the University of Pittsburgh school of Health and Rehabilitation sciences. Dr. Pedro is
also certified in Active Release Techniques(ART), the gold standard in soft-tissue
treatment, and combines all the latest manual techniques in conjunction with specific
functional rehabilitation protocols.
Dr. Pedro practices according to evidence-based guidelines and stays current on all
research as it pertains to the treatment and management of spine and extremity
musculoskeletal conditions. He works closely with local medical physicians, physical
therapists and athletic trainers in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.
